OUR TRIBUTE TO MAX YASGUR

Peace Sign, hand up

Max Yasgur for President - Bumpersticker

Max Yasgur was, and still is, highly respected as a man of his word, for his idealism and for his modesty, for his peace and for his tolerance, and is best characterized by a comment he once made to his wife: "When I decide that I have to drive by someone in need of help and not stop, that's not the kind of world I want to live in."

ARTIE KORNFELD

For Kornfeld, Woodstock wasn't a matter of building stages, signing acts or even selling tickets. For him, the festival was always a state of mind, a happening that would exemplify the generation. (Excerpt: How Woodstock Happened…Part 1 By:Elliot Tiber)

"... our intentions were always to make this more than a concert, but a total showing of our generation.
