Hello to all who respect historic landmarks.
Especially those that represent peace and music.
Remember the 1969 Woodstock Festival in Upstate New
York? That wonderful sloping hill on Yasgur's Farm will soon fall prey to
construction machinery and commercialism. WITHIN DAYS, THE 1969
WOODSTOCK SITE MAY HAVE PLANS APPROVED THAT WILL ALTER THIS WONDERFUL ICON
FOREVER.
One of your friends has taken it upon himself/herself
to help this global movement to inform the world of this atrocity. We
seldom take up others' time with e-mails but give us a minute or so. This
is truly important. Politics and the Monied Elite in upstate New York are
mounting their next assault on the Woodstock Festival Site. This time the
goal is to transform a major portion of the property into what will amount
to a commercial shopping
complex. The term "Music/Performing Arts Center" is used to add
legitimacy to the planned changes. Folks who know Alan Gerry (property
owner) and the political structure in Bethel New York, Sullivan County
aren't buying this latest deception. Literally thousands of people journey
to Bethel, New York each year to visit the Festival Site and Monument. An
organized group (the Woodstock Preservation Alliance) needs your help to
stop these plans.
Here's a link to the web site
www.thewoodstockspirit.org Take
a moment and stop by. In depth information is available and a Petition that
you can sign On-Line. We are also happy to respond to your e-mails. Nobody's
asking for time or money... Just your support. If Woodstock has Importance
to you, please do more than just reading this e-mail. Stop by the website
shown above.
If you agree with our mission, please sign the
petition and send this email to as many friends as possible. If every
person who receives this email could send it to 10 people or more
immediately, we could blanket the world within a few days. There are
literally days left before the final fate of this wonderful icon to a
generation is desecrated forever. THE WOODSTOCK SITE BELONGS TO YOU. ONLY
YOU CAN STOP IT FROM BEING TAKEN AWAY.
Peace,
The Board of Directors and Memebrship of the
Woodstock Preservation Alliance
