Welcome Home

The Woodstock Anniversary’s

I was a disc jockey on WVBR-FM in Ithaca, N.Y. from 1992-2000. I did many regular shifts at the station and also hosted a blues show for several years. I also had a long-running, free-form music program on the weekend.

I have been writing music articles since the late 1980s. Most of my stuff has appeared in upstate New York publications like the Revolving Door and the Ithaca Times. I have also written stories and done interviews with blues greats such as B.B. King, Junior Wells, Koko Taylor and Albert Collins for a number of blues publications, and a couple of my Woodstock pieces appeared in Relix Magazine.

Life is filled with peaks and valleys but you come across a lot more high points when you're covering music. I have been lucky to sit at a table with Ray Manzarek and talk about the Doors, and listen to Tim Reynolds discuss the wild and crazy times when Dave Mathews and him were starting out in Charlotttesville, Virginia.

I have been fortunate to write about and talk with a many musicians over the years and I hope to transcribe some of my interviews with musicians from the sixties for this site in the future.
